Dharma School

Jikoen Hongwanji Mission Temple Dharma School provides students from elementary to high school level with an introduction to Buddhism as well as to specific Jodo-Shinshu teachings. Students participate in weekly family service by serving as M.C., ringing the temple bell, and playing the organ.

After the morning service the students meet for a short Dharma lesson and related activity. Students also participate in cultural activities with previous activities ranging from Udon making to Paranku instruction. The students also participate in activities sponsored by the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii’s Dharma School state and district programs throughout the year.
